The Governors at James Peacock Infant and Nursery School in Manor Park have revealed their new Head Teacher – and it’s the woman who’s already been taking care of the job for the past nine months.
Following interviews for the role, Hannah Cutts {inset above} has been appointed as the school’s Head from the next academic year – officially beginning her permanent role on September 1st.
She follows in the footsteps of Richard Waldron, who served as the Ruddington school’s Head Teacher for fifteen years before taking time off from his post in October 2021 due to ill health, with Mrs Cutts standing in. Then, after a disappointing set of Ofsted results in April, Mr Waldron decided to leave the job in May.
In a statement to RUDDINGTON.info, the Governing body at James Peacock Infant and Nursery School writes: “We are delighted to announce the appointment of Mrs Hannah Cutts as the new Head Teacher for James Peacock Infant and Nursery School with effect from 1st September 2022. Mrs Cutts has been successfully undertaking the role of Acting Headteacher since the Autumn 2021 with significant positive changes having already been introduced.”
It continues: “Mrs Cutts demonstrated the drive, determination and skills needed to continue to develop and enhance the school throughout a rigorous two day interview process and we know she will continue to do this as we move into the new academic year. We look forward to working with Mrs Cutts, in her formal role, from September to support and challenge in order to ensure we see the continued improvements at James Peacock.”
Mrs Cutts says: “I would like to take this opportunity to thank the governing body for entrusting me to lead our truly incredible school. As you all know I stepped up to Acting Head in October and have worked really hard to ensure rapid improvement to ensure we are delivering the very best for our wonderful children. I am incredibly honoured to take on this role and feel immensely privileged to be able to lead James Peacock into its next chapter.”
She continues: “I am passionate about ensuring that all children receive the best possible experience at school, I can assure you that our school will continue to work hard and rise to each challenge to ensure this school is truly great! I want to continue working with you all and the community to create a school your children are desperate to attend, a place where they feel happy, encouraged, supported and special. As a community we will build a school together we can continue to be really proud of.”
The announcement comes as the staff and children at the Ruddington school break for their long summer holidays today, which continue until August 31st.
